Visit from Dr. Matt Long from Nottingham Trent University.

On Wednesday 1st October 2014, the Social Science team were pleased to welcome Dr. Matt Long to the Academy to deliver a taster session on Criminology to 45 Psychology and Sociology students. Dr. Long is a Criminology lecturer and admissions tutor for the Criminology course at Nottingham Trent University. The session was informative and engaging; the students had to partake in a variety of problem solving tasks which at one point involved a (mock) phone call from Theresa May!!

“The session was brilliant! There was a large amount of audience participation which made it really fun and meant I took a lot of information in. It gave me a really clear idea about criminology and the different paths it can lead onto.”

“It was really interesting seeing how what we learn about in our social science lessons is applied to real life jobs- helps you see the bigger picture.”
