In September 2016, the first Children’s University session of the year took place with the support of the National Space Centre. Students were able to sign up to explore Life on Mars in three interactive sessions. The first activity involved using a laptop as a command centre for the Mars Rover, the students were required to send instructions to the space robot to undertake tasks such as negotiating the tricky Mars terrain. The second activity was to design and build a space station after purchasing the necessary equipment and resources and the third activity rounded the day off with the opportunity to witness the night sky in the Planetarium, where a world of constellations and Greek mythology awaited. This was a fantastic experience for all.
