Curriculum Link: PSHE National Careers Week The session begins with the performance, which is followed by the PSHE presentation, and finally a live Q&A with students where pupils can ask questions directly to the artist. The session ends with a short meet and greet where pupils can take away a signed flyer. Wallis will discuss mental health, the causes of mental health problems (stress at school, relationships etc), a time when she has had her own mental health issues, who to turn to for help and the importance of speaking up. Wallis will discuss the importance of healthy relationships and respect within all kinds of relationships, whether this be family, friendships or romantic relationships. She will also discuss the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships highlighting the importance of respect and tolerance. On top of this Wallis will make this message aspirational, showcasing the importance of working hard at school, how what you do at school impacts your future, the options pupils have after school and striving to reach your goals and ambitions. The talk is very interactive and gets the pupils involved. |
