New Sixth Form Centre


Work has commenced on a new dedicated Sixth Form centre exclusively for Sixth Form use.

To complement the Academy's existing outstanding facilties a new Sixth Form centre has been designed by Sixth Formers for Sixth Formers and is due for completion early in 2015.

The 'Buttery' on the existing TDA campus, the last remaining building from the original Thomas Deacon School, will be remodeled to include a main study area with individual study booths for 60 students with additional space for 38 students at computer stations and 32 students at tables.  A second  study area will feature larger study booths complete with computer stations for 28 students. There will also be a dedicated refectory with seating for up to 48 students which will provide hot and cold snack food from breakfast through to late afternoon.  An outside patio can be used as a communal area for Sixth Formers during the summer months,  The building will also be fully wi-fi enabled so that students can use their own mobile devices. Additional features will include toilets, a meeting room and a prayer room
